NATHALIE SIMON

Nathalie Simon grew up in Chateauguay. From an early age, she participated actively in community, cultural and sports life, where her leadership qualities were quickly demonstrated and observed. This interest in her city and its citizens has never wavered and leads her today to take her commitment a step further.
Nathalie served on the board of directors of Maison des Jeunes, CHAI-FM, the Fabric council board of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, and for the past three years has been an elder for the Saint-Joachim parish. She is also part of the organizing committee of the Chateauguay Hall of Fame.
A translator by training, it is to journalism that she gravitated towards upon graduating from the University of Montreal. Nathalie has worked in both print and electronic journalism here and in Montreal. Until last May, for over 20 years she covered and scrutinized the local and regional news on behalf of the Le Soleil newspaper. A privileged witness of the political, social, community and sports scene, she has received awards on numerous occasions for the quality of her work. Nathalie notably won a first prize at the Gala des Hebdos du Québec in the category of Municipal Affairs, a second prize in the category of Economy, and a third prize in the category of Environment. Thoroughly aware of municipal dossiers and major local issues, she offers her fellow citizens a clear vision for the future of Chateauguay.
