Citizens’Action has a clear vision for families

«For us family is at the image of our community. It means the large Châteauguay family, social groups and organisms. Family is the people whom belong to it : kids, teens, parents and grand-parents. It can be a traditional, monoparental, or recomposée. To be happy families need to have an healthy, safe and nice environment. Our programm propose concreet actions for families such as a family policy that answer their real needs, activities and lieux where citizens of any ages can meet together, have fun, share and relax», says Nathalie Simon, chief of Citizens’Action and mayoral candidate.

- Neiborhoud Police
Among the points that have been brought up in the survey, public security had often been point out. Citizens’ Action s’engage to work with the Police service and community groups to provide a police service closer to the citizens and to their concerns. L’accent sera mis sur la prévention plutôt que sur la répression.

- Free activities for the youngs in our districts
One of the objectives of Citizens’Action will be to have more accessible activities for the youngsters, close from where they live. More skating rings, bring back outdoor public pools and create a network of free organised activities in collaboration with shcools and other local organisms.  We already have exemple such as the community school at St.Wilibrord.

-More safe pedestrians corridors and sidewalks
Citizens’Action will work to have make the streets more secure for pedestrians. A lot of pedestrians are walking in streets where they have to share the streets with cars. It is particularly true for kids that are walking to school every days. The creation of safe corridors for pedestrians and sidewalks are parts of Action citoyenne/Citizens’Action commitments.
